What makes it different?
Peckham’s uses Kingston Black and Knotted Kernel apples: traditional cider varieties chosen for their flavour, tannin and natural structure.
Unlike ordinary eating apples, specialist cider apples bring more complexity to the finished drink. This helps Apple Zero retain its body and distinctive cider character after the alcohol has been removed.
It is an important difference — and one you can taste.
The first pour
In the glass, Peckham’s Apple Zero has an inviting golden colour and gentle sparkle.
The aroma is unmistakably apple, but not in a simple or overly sweet way. There are ripe orchard-fruit notes, together with a slightly earthy, savoury character that gives the cider added depth.
From the first sip, it feels like a drink made for adults.
How does it taste?
Apple Zero delivers plenty of genuine apple flavour, balanced by refreshing acidity, subtle tannin and a pleasantly dry finish.
There is some natural sweetness, but it does not dominate. Instead, the sweetness is balanced by the cider apples’ structure and a light savoury quality.
The result is crisp, rounded and satisfying — not sugary, thin or one-dimensional.
This is cider first and alcohol-free second.
More than an alternative
One of the challenges with alcohol-free drinks is creating enough body and flavour once the alcohol has been removed.
Peckham’s succeeds because the cider begins with characterful fruit and is fermented before undergoing the alcohol-removal process. This preserves more of the aroma, texture and complexity associated with traditional cider.
It is an excellent example of how thoughtful production and quality ingredients can create an alcohol-free drink that stands confidently on its own.
How to serve it
Serve Peckham’s Apple Zero cool — ideally between 7°C and 10°C.
Pouring it into a stemmed cider glass or wine glass allows the aroma and flavour to open up. It can certainly be enjoyed straight from the can, but it deserves the glassware treatment when the occasion allows.
What should you enjoy it with?
Its balance of apple, acidity and gentle tannin makes Apple Zero particularly versatile with food. Try it with:
- Roast pork or pork belly
- A cheese or grazing platter
- Chicken and light meat dishes
- Spicy Asian food
- Salty snacks
- Outdoor lunches and summer barbecues
When does it work best?
Peckham’s Apple Zero is ideal when you want something more interesting than a soft drink, but do not feel like beer or wine.
It works beautifully for relaxed lunches, barbecues, social occasions, restaurant dining or simply enjoying a cold drink at home.
For hospitality venues, it offers customers a distinctive cider option that feels considered and premium — not like a compromise.
Award-winning quality
Apple Zero has received significant recognition within the cider industry, including trophies in the low- and no-alcohol category at both the Australian Cider Awards and New Zealand Cider Awards.
That recognition reinforces what the glass already tells you: this is a serious craft cider with genuine flavour and structure.
The Quantum Zero verdict
Peckham’s Apple Zero challenges every expectation of what alcohol-free cider can be.
It is crisp, characterful and refreshingly grown-up, with real cider-apple complexity and a dry, satisfying finish. Most importantly, it does not taste like an imitation of something else.
If you have avoided alcohol-free cider because you expected fizzy apple juice, this is the one that may change your mind.
- Best served: Cool, at 7°C–10°C
- Alcohol: Less than 0.5% ABV
